Sweetgrass symbolizes love, peace, harmony, purity and our connection to Mother Earth. Throughout history, this plant has symbolized purification, which makes it an excellent smudging tool to purify the aura and cleanse a space prior to any ritual or ceremony.
Sweetgrass was traditionally used by Native American tribes to cleanse the mind, body, and spirit. It was believed that the scent of this herb would be pleasing to the creator and so would incline him to bless a ceremony.

Naturally dried Sweetgrass braid
Measures approx 4" - 5" long
HOW TO LIGHT SWEETGRASS - Trim a tiny bit off one end of the braid. Use a lighter to light the newly trimmed end, making sure to keep the flame on the braid for 10-15 seconds. Gently blow out the flame and wave the stick to create smoke. Use the smoke to cleanse yourself and/or your space. When finished, extinguish in sand in a fire proof vessel (do not use water!).
